Aurora’s Lockdown

We went for a cycle round the park. It was a brilliant sunny day. Cool but sunny. It’s important to get vitamin d during winter.

He was a celebrity guest on bbc bite size.

We did an art tutorial of penguins with the northern lights which is also my namesake. It’s the Aurora Borealis.

I’d like to go to Iceland or Finland or somewhere one day and see them for real.

On the way to pick up my sisters reading books from the school we discovered some frozen water on the ground in the park.

Mum told us that water freezes at zero degrees Celsius. It was fun to smash it by tapping it with our shoes.

We had a very quiet Christmas this year as the country was in Tier 4 restrictions due to higher covid numbers. Following the school break we then found out that schools are going into lockdown again.

I feel abit sad we can’t go back to school. It’s likely to be until at least the February half term.

Even so we have kicked off home school in style. I got a food canteen for Christmas as I’d asked for one, and today I ate from it whist home schooling with my mums homemade vegetable soup. It kept it piping hot!

I made the dough all by myself. Then did the toppings. It tasted good!

It was my aunties birthday. We went out fir lunch at our local pub. I made this cake using fondant icing for the first time (normally we use buttercream). I think she like it.

We went to the park and there was an event on to raise money for a mural to be painted on the side of the cafe to respresent the community.

I got my face painted and also my sister and I got a henna tattoo on our hands.

I’ve been doing some online black history education webinars. Today we learned about black power in sport including athlete activists like Muhammad Ali, Colin Kaepernick and Kathy Freeman.

We went to Bournemouth in Dorset for a holiday. It was so nice to get away from the house and go somewhere new.

We went to Swanage beach one day on the open top bus. It was so cool the bus had to drive onto the ferry to get across the water.
